Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Magnolia Margolis’ work explores femininity and girlhood through photographic processes. Her work spans fashion, editorial, and conceptual photography by creating staged photo shoots with studio lighting and fashion styling. Using various photography mediums, including digital, 35mm film, and 5x4 large-format film. Recent exhibitions include the Crossroads exhibition and Manifestations in Chicago. Currently working towards her BFA at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Magnolia is currently expanding her use of photography by using family-archived images as well as botanical and landscape photographs to create screenprints and explorative handmade books.
